This course focuses on the current application of biotechnology in environmental monitoring, quality control, resource recovery, remediation, and mitigation of contaminated environments. Topics included are microbial ecology, bioremediation of soil and water contaminated with toxic metals and xenobiotics, biological wastewater treatment, resource recovery from organic waste, and ecological engineering.
