BIOL3005 Animal Physiology (3 units)

The goal of this course is to provide students with sound knowledge of the fundamental principles and how they relate to the anatomical and functional organisation of an animal body. The mechanisms that maintain the functional systems in a state of homeostasis are described. Emphasis is placed on human physiology throughout the course. Comparative physiology of lower animals will also be a part of the course. In this course, students will acquire an understanding of the major physiological systems that contribute to maintaining body functions.
