AIDM7860 Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience (3 units)

This course provides a fundamental understanding of human-computer interaction (HCI) and user experience (UX). Students will learn how individuals interact with digital technology. Through exploring (1) users' cognitions, (2) users' emotions, as well as (3) social components, this course delves into both the theories and methods used in the field of HCI. Students will learn how to design and conduct a usability study to generate solutions for real-world design problems. They will be able to apply communication concepts, collect and analyse user data, and develop strategies for UX design through practice. Theories in social psychology and design thinking will also be covered.
