This course is designed to (1) provide students with practical language-specific translation experience as well, if desired, as the chance to write a academic dissertation by giving them the opportunity to work on EITHER an extended piece of translation OR a shorter piece of translation plus a short dissertation; (2) provide students with the experience of working independently on projects of a considerable scale; and (3) allow students to interact with supervisors on an individual basis.
