GEST4005 Carbon Audit and Energy Audit (3 units)

- Year 4 standing or consent of instructor
This course introduces and discusses the basic concepts and strategies of carbon audit and energy audit. On carbon audit, this course aims to provide students with an understanding of the sources and impacts of climate change, national and international policies, Paris Agreement, carbon credits and offset concepts. Students will also be able to calculate organization's carbon footprint, identify suitable mitigation strategies and provide carbon reduction solutions. On energy audit, strategies to streamline energy flow and maximize energy usage efficiency in daily life will be explored and the particular focus will on demand-side management, including economics models, energy audit procedure, and energy management foundation.
