ARTT3007 Arts Tech Work Experience (3 units)
All students of the BASc (Hons) in Arts and Technology programme are required to undertake work experience within their preferred career area during their time of study. A work experience links classroom theory to professional practice, and thus will provide the student with learning experiences beyond the possibilities of the BASc (Hons)-programme. Such experience will be valuable for the student’s professional and personal development, and in particular very helpful in establishing and/or verifying the student’s career intentions. As any internship is not supposed to interfere with the regular studies of the student, it will usually be taken as a summer activity during summer holiday or during term-break.
Work Experience will be self-organised by the student, in a company, corporation, or institutional body related to the arts and technology sectors, or apprenticeship to practicing artist, designer, curator and/or visual arts professionals. To fulfill the course requirement, student needs to attain a workload equivalent to minimum 70 working hours to be taken as one consecutive employment. The nature of work performed by the students during the work experience programme should reflect a reasonable professional level as would be expected in the creative, cultural or technology sectors and to be approved by the Work Experience course coordinator.
