BMSC1005 Anatomy (3 units)

This course aims to introduce the fundamental knowledge of anatomy to Chinese medicine/biomedical science double-degree students so as to prepare them for future comprehensive training in various organ-based systems. Anatomy is the study of the morphological structures of the human body. At the beginning of the course, regional anatomy of the musculoskeletal system will be emphasized. This will be followed by presentation of system anatomy involving the digestive, respiratory and cardiovascular, urogenital and neuronal systems. A series of lectures with in-class model demonstrations will be supplemented with small group discussion tutorials in a problem-based approach. A laboratory course will be running concurrently to elaborate the concepts being introduced in this lecture/tutorial-based course so as to enrich the overall understanding of anatomy.
