This course aims to supplement students’ knowledge and skills on video studio practices after they finish VART2455 Video Basics. Students will be equipped with intermediate level video production skills including basic lighting for moving image, use of projectors, camera works and use of heavy duty support gears.

This course effectively functions as an add-on regarding skills in camera work and lighting for students who want to further experiment in moving image. It will be conducted mostly in workshops environments to delivering skills and knowledge with actual practices: camera working with slider and steady-cam support, tracks and dolly, lighting methods regarding angles, styles and colours, use of projectors and the idea of projection as lighting.

Fluency of the above knowledge helps students to do video works for various creative media at advanced levels, including single channel video art, video installation art, hypermedia, and projects of experience design.
