GTSC2045 Seeing the World from Artistic and Scientific Perspectives (3 units)
- Medium of Instruction:
- English
This course is intended for students who are interested in the transcendence of disciplinary boundaries. It covers a range of technological innovations and discoveries relating to light, and how they have changed the course of human civilisations, and especially their effects upon values, culture, and how one perceives the world. Topics covered the intersection between the art and science of light across time and culture, light and colour, image-making, motion pictures, virtual reality, vision and other senses, as well as the use of contemporary media. Students will acquire a broader understanding of the world from wider angles, and gain trans-disciplinary perspectives for future research projects in the arts or the sciences.
