This course offers a comparative and connective study of art made in Asia and Europe. It provides insights into the formal qualities of works of transcultural art, allows a global journey through the human race in historic times through artifacts, and presents the historical achievements of some of Asia’s oldest nations in art.
Besides, this course attempts to contextualize artworks in the wider perspectives of culture, creativity and innovation. While exploring the complex and rich world of visual arts, this course discusses critical cultural issues embodied by the works, such as the shaping of individual and communal historic identities in historic contexts and today.
