This course helps students to develop a critical understanding of issues concerning life and death, develop a positive attitude towards life and cultivate a genuine respect for the value of life. This course also intends to equip students with the knowledge about values and beliefs concerning life and death and help them to appreciate beliefs other than their own. By employing an interdisciplinary approach that draws resources from philosophical, religious, psychological and therapeutic disciplines, this course seeks to provide cognitive, conative and practical trainings that can enhance the students' knowledge of matters of life and death and their practical skills in discerning and handling relevant life problems such as suicide and abortion.
